Here is a wonderful pickets and berries style victorian collar necklace. This style of necklace was popular in the late victorian through art deco period. This is a wonderful example. The "pickets" are made of hand carved creamy mother of pearl and are lovely in person.
They really seem to glow when the light hits them. Due to the age and the hand carved natural material, there are some minor chips and crazing in the pickets, however this piece is in overall good condition. In between each picket is a white bead. These are awesome with a summery look and they are also great worn over a turtleneck style top.
Largest picket length: 1.3in. Please see images/video as they are part of the description. This piece is around 100 years old and does have wear associated with age, however it is in nice shape the picket beads do have slight chipping and crazing that is expected from the age and natural material. They are hand carved so the shapes are irregular. The clasp is a brass tone and has a slight verdigris but is in working order, i usually don't clean antique metal as some people like the patina- i will leave cleaning to the new owner. The piece overall could use a gentle cleaning. This item is made of mother of pearl and brass fastener, beads.
