Sterling Silver Botanical Linden Tree Twig Necklace

This linden tree twig necklace is made from an historic linden tree from adamsville, rhode island. The tree is first growth, said by locals to be hundreds of years old. The circumference of the linden is 13 feet and it soars to over 100 feet tall. Local lore says that, as the tallest tree around, it was used as a navigational aid to help sailors find the westport harbor. The linden tree is also known as the bee-tree, as bees prefer its flowers to all others. I made this budding twig into a sterling silver necklace using the lost wax casting process so it's made from a real twig. It measures 16" with a 2" extender. The twig measures 2.5.
