Moldavite is an extremely rare stone found in the gemstone kingdom which is estimated to have been formed about 14 million years ago. It is believed that moldavite was created when a meteor impacted the earth and vaporized itself and the surrounding material that it hit. The vapors from this impact ejected into the upper atmosphere where they solidified and then rained back down as solids. These solids are the beautiful and dazzling rare moldavite stones that are hard to find today.
