These necklaces were created as an experiment in pairing teeny-tiny opals sectioned with rainbow knots to create a less labor-intensive (and more affordable) version of one of my best loved pieces. These dainty necklaces are made with opal gemstones that have a light yellow body color and strong green in their play of color.
Each necklaces is a little different in terms of the length and silk color. 15.5 on neon rainbow - 2.5mm - 3.5mm beads. 16 on mellow rainbow - 3mm - 3.5mm beads. 18.5 on mellow rainbow - 2.5mm - 4.2mm beads.
19 on pastel rainbow - 2.5mm - 4mm beads the rainbow cord is most muted in this option. These necklaces are made with scrupulously selected ethiopian opals that have been dyed to get the bright body color, hand-dyed silk cording, and 14/20 gold-fill findings.
Please know that while this necklace is great for daily wear, it's meant to be worn gently since ethiopian opals are a soft stone. Each necklace is knotted on premium-quality silk thread.I dye all cord myself in micro batches to control quality. I use a proprietary dye process that gives color-fast, vibrant colors and enhanced silk durability. Please read the full description for details on care and keeping. To keep this necklace looking great and intact, it must be kept away from and out of harsh or chemical-ly environments. Do not take it for a shower, swim, sweat session or sauna (literal or metaphorical).
Like pearls, opals should go on after any cosmetics, perfume, lotions, hair potions, etc. And should be the first thing to come off when you hunker down to get comfy. To clean, wipe with a soft slightly damp cloth. Store it safely - shoved in pocket or purse doesn't count soft stones and silk cord like their rest, too, so be sure to take them off before bed.Available on a case-by-case basis.
