I love working with a wide range of materials whether they are synthetic or found in nature. I spend a lot of time walking in the woods and tend to come home with pieces to add to my jewelry while respecting the balance of nature. Everything is handcrafted in a particular process from the pouring, shaping, sanding, polishing, and lastly selecting proper hardware to accentuate each piece without overwhelming it. Each piece is unique and has its own perfect imperfections.
Because they are handcrafted, when imperfections present (sometimes bubbles or a spec of something from another piece), i decide if it passes muster and compliments the item for a satisfactory end result. You will also receive a bit of wood conditioners with any wood pieces. Please do not wear any of these pieces in the shower, bath, swimming, or during any activity that will get it wet. While some of my pieces are solely resin or the wood is incased in resin, they are still vulnerable to damage and degradation if exposed to moisture. While resin and wood jewelry have good longevity, care is needed to extend the life of the piece.
Avoid exposing your jewelry to direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause the resin to discolor and soften, yellow, and fade any pigments or other additives(natural or synthetic). Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and cleaning agents. They usually have solvents in them no matter how natural they are (lemonstooth erosion). Rubbing alcohol works especially quickly in breaking down resin. I use it to clean any that gets on my skin during the pouring process. If you need to clean it, you can use a clean microfiber cloth or chamois to gently wipe. Chamois hold moisture so only use them when something is dried on. Remove jewelry when applying lotions, perfume, hair products, or other beauty products. Avoid bumps, scrapes, and scratches by removing your jewelry before any athletic or physical activities, indoor or outdoor household chores, and before bedtime. Smoking: it will cause the jewelry to yellow over time. This item is made of opal and silver, wood.
