Aaloka Rose de France and Pearl Pendant Gold Vermeil
Aaloka - elegant gem accented freshwater pearl pendant would make a statement for a wedding or any other occasion - very large 15mm x 10.5mm natural untreated ivory blush freshwater pearl is paired with a 6mm x 4mm rose de france faceted gemstone, set in a 3 micron thick 24k/sterling silver vermeil bali style bail. The photos have bleached out the blush to a large extent. The pearl is very beautiful and more lively than the photos can capture. It has been said by experts that cultured pearls outshine the wild caught pearls of old for luster and overall beauty. Aaloka is fit for a queen. Grade: aaa grade freshwater pearl. Size: very large 15mm x 10.5mm size. Skin quality: smooth skin type.
Color: natural, untreated ivory blush color. Sizes as large as aaloka's are rather rare. Most freshwater pearls in this size range are baroque in shape. Aaloka's shape is more regular with just a slight hint of a circle marking. 39mm or about 1 1/2 in overall length.
I grade my pearls using an a-aaa grading scale, where aaa is the best quality available. Aaa grade pearls will have a surface that is at least 95% free of any defects dimples, chip, "burn marks", or any unsightly thing. Freshwater pearls generally range in size from about 3.0-7.0mm. Sizes above 8mm are less abundant and tend to be more expensive than the smaller sizes. Factors that impact pearl prices are: type of pearl, size, shape, surface quality or skin type, color, luster, and overtones/orient. Natural untreated pearl colors range from whitish, through pink, apricot to peach. Some unusual and rare golden, purple, and blue gray colors are occasionally available.Bright white pearls are always bleached. Other lighter colors may be bleached to even out their tone. Aaloka's color has not been bleached. She is just as the mother oyster made her. Other colors are permanently dyed.

Zodiac: amethyst is associated with the zodiac sign of pisces. Chemical make-up: amethyst is made a macrocrystalline variety of the crystal quartz. The only plating i normally use with any regularity is rhodium over. 925 sterling silver or 14kt white gold.
Vermeil is pronounced "vehr-may, " and is solid. 925 sterling silver which is plated with at least 10kt gold to a thickness of at lease 2.5 microns. 24kt over sterling silver offers a beautiful rich color while being very strong. The 3 micron thickness offers a durable surface. The chain shown in the photograph is not included with the pendant.
