Suspended from a fine but extremely well made oval link cable chain, this vintage diamond bar hangs horizontally from two integrated bails and is unlike most diamond bar necklaces you might find. I suspect that this piece is considerably older than its spring ring closure suggests, and that it likely had a different clasp at one time (possibly hook style) and is possibly from as far back as the late 19th/early 20th century. The rectangular bar is dimensional, with the plaque measuring approximately 11/16" across (or approximately 17mm) by 3/16" (or just shy of 5mm). It serves as the background for a raised rectangular design framed in the finest of milgraining, and set with three (3) single cut diamonds. Being set it is difficult to measure the stones, but they are each approximately 2mm each, so perhaps a total of 8 or 9 points. Both diamonds and gold have been tested and are as described. The necklace weighs 3.2 grams on my scale. Please examine all photos closely, as photos are to be considered part of the description.
This item is made of diamond and gold.
